WJMC OPEN 2007
Sunday the 22nd of April 2007 saw the Junior Quads participate in the WJMC Open. This is the first time the Junior Quads have been included in this Open event's race schedule, and from all accounts the kids all loved it. It was great to see the committee of WJMC and their new Quad members include the 3 classes and also to see The Quad Performance centre jumping on board to sponsor all Classes of Junior Quads.
From where I watched in the afternoon,{out on flag point 11} the kids put on a great show, with the 90cc standards going hard and sometimes having the modifieds zooming by them, they held firm and raced beautifully. The modified 90cc showed great endurance doing the whole track and young Chris Bosnakis had the Cobra absolutely pinned and pulling off two race wins with Harley Brooke taking the other. Aston had some mixed fortunes with Maverick Cuthbert on the Honda TRX 90cc showing consistency can pay off, riding well all day and taking a bag full of 2nds, to take the WJMC Title of 90cc Modified Champ.
Tyson Evans battled it out alll day with Maverick and I'm pretty sure this is his first Podium, so well done Tyson.
There were plenty of visitors who came to support and watch the Juniorsl, some who had been out at AJS and dropped in to watch, and others who came for the whole day, great to see so much support for the kids, I think the only yell of excitement I heard all day over the finish line was for the Junior 90cc !

Blaster competition nevers ceases to amaze me, the competition is fierce, and the speed these kids are going now is incredible, comparing to 12 months ago when most of these kids started competition racing.
"The WJMC track has some wicked Jumps" said Luke Gaisford. The general consensus from the pit tent full of riders between races, that they all really want to come back and race there again.
Practice had most of the Blasters seeing the track for the first time, with John, Nick,Jessica and Jack showing some exceptional speed, a few jumps were going to take some getting used to, but all in all, the day was set for some good racing.
Racing saw Luke and Adam race off to clear 1st and 2nd in each race, but the usual Bunch of Jordan, Marcus, Simone, Joel and Kyle put on some superb passing, and I'm sure the score tower had the work cut out, with positions changing constantly. The last race of the day was the most spectacular with everyone going for the 3rd place on the podium, Marcus had gone off for Medical assistance, Joel went into lap 2 in 6th and came around for the last lap board in 3rd, found another gear and took off after Adam, Mean while Jordan, Kyle and Simone were battling it out behind with positions changing between and on all the corners with barely a quad length between them. It was trully great to see and all though all of us parents cringe at the speed, we do all know your all very capable, we just dont think you kids, realise how much faster and higher your all going now !!!
Congratulations to all the kids whether you were on the podium or not, you all did good!!!!
