The first of 3 rounds for the Junior Quad State Championships, saw twenty 200cc riders, and Fourteen 90cc racers fill the grids for some top racing.
Stand out efforts from Marcus Smith puts him in the lead with 72 Points closely followed by Aus #1 Steven Wilson and Jordan Dummett in 3rd. The 200cc class was amazing with fast and exciting racing amongst the states best riders, Adam Davies and Joel Mortimer were in the top five mix race 1&2, but mishaps in the final race put them off the podium for the day. Jordan Dummett’s consistency paid dividends, while Chris Bosnakis recently turning 12 allowed him to race in both Junior classes, all eyes were on the youngster as he finished his first ever Open 200cc race on a packed grid in 5th, following up with a 6th in the second race. As some of Australia’s best Pro’s looked on, commenting on the speed this class was doing. Senior Quad racing in WA is definitely looking healthy with a very capable bunch of 15 year olds, who will graduate to seniors at the end of this season.
The 90cc class was won by Chris Bosnakis with 3 consecutive wins and was packed with competitions all over the track, tussles between 2nd placed Aston Oliver and 3rd place was amazing to watch, while mid- field there were tussles between riders using the split track to gain an advantage, back further the youngsters had their own races going on with who ever was in front of them. The track was lined with excited parents all with camera’s and smiles, which was joyous to see.
Round 2 will be held at the Manjimup Open on May 30th, if racing at Tumbulgum was any indication, we will all be in for some of Australia’s best Junior Quad Racing.
Tumbulgum Sunday saw Thirty senior Quad Riders split into two grids for a feast of racing. The track was perfect to showcase Quad racing at its best, and with KTM Riders Chris Brenton and Anthony Yewers on hand, the ante was raised to a new level for Tumbulgum. Chad Mckay and RPS Can-Am rider Luke Gaisford rounded out the Pro’s. Ricky Stephens, Vince Thomson, and the new senior boys from Coastal, Jesse Dick, Brad Filbey and Nathan Vestey, where taking it to the Pro’s, and never giving them and easy ride.
Chris Brenton Dominated the A Class, winning the first race, with Anthony Yewers in second and Luke Gaisford in 3rd. The second race was an elimination over the 2 classes, over 4 races with the final 4 being Brenton, Yewers, Mckay, Stephens.
The third race unfortunately was red flagged with a nasty crash, Brenton again dominated with Mckay in pursuit, Gaisford and Yewers were all over each other for 3 laps before the red flag.

1st Chris Brenton 2nd Anthony Yewers 3rd Ricky Stephens.
B Class had some stand out rides by Kyle Brenton, Matt McKay, Sam Derbyshire and a host of others. The girls, Simone Gaisford, Jessica Osborne and Roxanne Petersen had their own side competition happening, all finishing mid-pack on the 16 grid.
