Senior Quads were on the Sunday the weather was a little kinder, the Easterly winds not so brutal, and dust almost settled. Chad Mckay{pic right} blitzed the crowd being one of the fasterst Pro rider in the country, it was to be expected.
Cy Bettjeman holeshotted his side of the course 3 times, while young Jes Osborne showed she is ready for State Round holeshottingone race on the right hand side of the course, up with the leaders she stayed on the pace for quite a while. Tom Stevens & Grant Gaisford were very equal with Luke Gaisford and Craig Davies also mixing it up at the front of the grid. Tom Taking out the overall 3rd position.
1st Chad McKay
2nd Cy Bettjeman
3rd Tom Stevens
Tumbulgum 2008 kicked off on Saturday morning, the last day of daylight saving, we arrived at 6am to pitch blackness, wind and dust. Scrutineering kicked off around sun up 7am and the rest of the day ran at a frantic pace. The natural Terrain Motocross course snaked its way across the undulating hillside, the track being about 2kms long and races 3 laps duration. The split start is a real crowd thriller with half the grid going to the right, and half to the left, joining back up at the bottom of the hill with a drag race to the top where the full grid came together. The split start allows each lap for riders who are very close together to choose alternate sides to gain advantage or try to overtake the opposition, very exciting and very important choices for the final Invitational race of the day. This knockout race saw the top 3 riders from all solo classes invited to participate in a knockout race, that saw the last 2 riders ejected after each 1 lap sprint, as expected the final 2 were Porter and Addison, old and New State Champion, Addison took the holeshot and Porter thru everything at him, but Addison held on for the win. The day finished on the start straight with trophies, and sponsors giveaways, everyone leaving with a tired smile on their faces.
