We at WAQuadMX would like to applaud all the women who raced in the Women’s State Quad Motocross Championships yesterday at Noble Falls.
The girls all pushed themselves over 3 races, having 3 different winners, shows just how equal the racing is in this class. The girls rode so well, they positioned very high up in the overall clubman grid and put some of the guys to shame !
Congratulations to
#1 Roxanne Petersen(2nd 2nd 1st)
#2 Jessica Osborne (3rd 1st 2nd)
#3 Jessica Harrison (1st 4th 3rd)
Pro Quads were always going to biggest draw card for the many spectators who come to Noble Falls to see some first class Quad racing. This track is one of the only tracks were Quads and Solo’s can put in the same fast laptimes. This year Factory KTM Solo rider Michael Addison pipped Chris Brenton’s time by just 2 seconds. Photograher Steve Hardacre was heard to ask if Chris had a licence to fly?( may have something to do with the Top Gun back plates 4 of the boys are sporting…. Brenton is Iceman, Lancaster is Hollywood, Milling is Maverick and Holland is Goose) Over the year the Pro Open Solo class has followed the Quads in race order, and instead of waiting for the Quad teams to leave the pitboard area, many are now in there urging their favourite Quad riders on. The class and sportsmanship shown between this unbelievably talented group of riders is second to none. Josh Higson, Chad Mckay, Anthony Yewers and Dave Sanders round out this elite group and will be interesting to see who fills the 3 spots on the podium at the finale of the Championships in just 2 weeks at Coastal Park.
Although a blow by blow of each race isn’t possible(bit too busy watching my boy) I can tell you some bits and pieces.
1.Chris Brenton raced extremely fast, added 75 points to his tally
2.Josh Higson has cemented himself as one of the best Pro Quad riders in WA if not Australia
(he is #5 in AUS)
3.Josh went bush during a race, gained control and back on the track barely blinking an eye.
4.Taylor Milling almost beat Ant in race 2….. then the next race he did !
5.Ryan Lancaster had a shocking crash, finished the race, then went for an ambulance ride to hospital. (he is ok, needs rest)
6.Chad Mckay got lost in the dust in race 1 ended up off the track with no where to go, but pushed his bike off a drop off.
7.Chad Mckay got holeshot in race 2, and it was his 20th Birthday.
8.Luke Gaisford had a brilliant tussle with Ant Yewers in race 3
9.Ant Yewers loves close racing !
10. All the pro quad riders fastest laptimes were within the top 20 riders(with over 200 entered for the day including 2 & 4 wheel)
