Rockingham Powersports riders Clean Up at Jindong
WA State Motocross Championships headed south to Jindong Park Busselton on the weekend
Rider numbers topped 300, but the weather was not going to be kind to the seniors. Saturday night
saw hours of rain flood the track, and while practice and the first race saw some clean lines appear it didnt last long.
Lunchtime was met with another downpour that left the track with a sloppy 6 inch surface of mud slush.
The Officials announced after the completion of round 2 the event would be stopped, much to the delight
of the tired and very muddy riders.
Never the less Rockingham Powersports had a brilliant day with Intermediate Quad rider Luke Gaisford winning both his races on the RPS Can-am DS450. Placing outright with the Pro Quads 5th and 3rd his Can-Am found some new found attention
The muddy conditions played havoc for many, but Luke at just 16 years, ploughed through both races without the mishaps suffered by many to put in two great races.
Grant Gaisford took the overall win in the Quad Veterans on board the Honda TRX 450ER, finishing 2nd and 1st respectively in his races was a huge achievement, Grant stated "Ray did a great job freshening up the Honda in time for Jindong, not many mechanics would stay behind after working hours to make sure you could race, and I really appreciated it"
