Coastal Motorcycle Club Held Club Run 1 on March 9th.
This day would mark the first race day for some riders, Shania and Kyle, Jordon to our Junior ranks, Jessica and Roxanne racing in the seniors and and Owen & John also starting their racing careers in the Seniors.

Its pretty amazing to be standing out in the centre of the track all day, as you get to see every single race, and yesterday was huge ! We had over 170 riders, 2 & 4 wheel Senior and Junior. Obviously my interest lies with the Quads and it was wonderful to see 30 quads and many new faces.
We had a few Juniors join the senior ranks at the end of 2008 and its great to see them all doing well, I'm particuarly proud of the girls as we have put a point system in place, so they are racing for their own club championship. All 3 Jessica Roxanne and Sharon won a race each and it should be great to see how this pans out. Miss Osborne seems to have taken to the new KTM like a duck to water and recently participated at an AJS Quickstart. The girls should be given credit as they raced yesterday on the same grid as Chad McKay, Chris Brenton and Aus #1 Anthony Yewers, club runs certainly have a mixture of every class !

The 200-300cc Class saw Adam Davies put in a stirling effort, a hatrick of wins for the day giving him the perfect start to the season, Brad Filbey and Jordon Dummett, new to racing this year joined the Blaster class, Donovan Petersen upgrading from the 90cc class put in a creditable effort with some good placings throughout the day. Dramas are a given with the Blasters, and Bernice Ackermann had everyone running when her bike cartwheeled from the top track down to a lower level, to her credit, she got the bike going and finished the race. Marcus forgot his helmet?? Jamie Lee got a holeshot ! Joel's bike stopped, almost as far from the pits as it could ! Braydens Quad had a mechanical gear problem in the last race, his maturity showing to complete the race in 2nd gear, to take 11pts, smart going Brayden, could be those 11 pts at the end of the year that matter. Melissa, Nic, Jamie Lee, Jordon and David put in some close exciting races and Kyle on the Raptor improves every time he takes the 250cc out.

The 90cc Class saw the 2 stroke of Don's stop in the first race, and 4 stroke's continued to race the entire day with Maverick Cuthbert taking 3 wins, Kyle Yewers also on the Honda 90cc take 2nd points and Shania take 3rd, Shania had a small stack in her very first race but to her credit she got back on and finished the race in 3rd.

Chad McKay and Anthony Yewers dominated the senior races, but as mentioned earlier, there was a mixture of every class in the seniors, Chris Brenton back on the track after a layoff after surgery, although taking it easy in the first race, he went hard in the second race, to pass Mckay and Yewers, only to pull off the track, and take the last lap easy, obviously monitoring his fitness, speed etc. his third race, Jessica was mixed up in the first corner and put the KTM on its lid, Brenton pulled up, got her on her wheels and then took off to complete the race day.
Luke Gaisford on the RPS Can-AM still in stock form put in a huge effort to follow McKay and Yewers through for third in Race 1, tussling it out with RPS Honda rider Grant Gaisford every race, this father and son combo for WAQuadMX although in 3rd and 4th were in a race of their own for bragging rights on the way home.
