2010 Smarter than Smoking WA State Motocross Championships

Round 3 of the Championship moves to Shrublands Park Bunbury on June 20^th. A huge advertising campaign throughout the regional South West area through the GWN network will see a flood of extreme motorsport fans take the opportunity to cheer on their local riders as they compete for championship points and part of the series $68 000 in prize money. Local track knowledge and expertise in the technical Bunbury track will play a huge part on final podium positions for the day. Look out for locals Ben Atthowe in the Pro Lites to shake up the top ten positions and Oliver Smith in the Pro Opens to look for an upset right at the top of the field.

Pro Open
Huge field of riders are entered in the Pro Open class, with riders of the calibre of Louis Calvin and Dean Porter taking three wins a piece in the first two rounds, These two riders are both WA Champions and are pushing the envelope in every race. Calvin will come into Bunbury Round with a confidence high coming off a Pro Shootout win at Manjimup against an international field of riders. Two flat tyres see him in 5^th position, not something the Perth youngster would be used to. Jamie Shaw sits in 4^th on 102pts, Shane Murray 3^rd on 104pts Chris Errey 2^nd on 114pts while Porter holds a small buffer in 1^st on 132pts.

Pro Lites
The leader after two rounds is Josh Adams, with six races down and 4 different winners, no one in this class is going to get an easy ride. Bunbury will mark the half way point of the series and the end to country racing, before moving the show onto AJS, the home club of the sand specialists. Expect to see the youngsters put in a huge effort to close the gap in points. Paul Humberston holds 2^nd with Daniel Shrimp 3^rd, Robbie Clark 4^th and Shaun Cornick in 5^th.

Quad Championship
Returning from a short stint in the USA is Ryan Lancaster who leads the points after two rounds, Luke Gaisford holds second place, while youngster Jordan Dummett proudly sits in third place. The sand surface isn’t one of Lancaster’s favourite’s but knowing his competitiveness he will be determined to maintain his lead. Chad McKay missed round 2 through injury but a stint at the Finke last weekend should see him back with hopes of catching up some much needed points.
