Lightweight Motorcycle Club hosted Round 6 “The Finale”of the 2010 Smarter than Smoking WA State Motocross Championships on Sunday the 19th of September
Lightweight Motorcycle Club hosted the finale to the 2010 season, on Sunday 19th September, perfect conditions all week meant a few stoppages for watering, but the track was amazing all day and produced some of the tightest racing and finishes to all series.
Pro Lites 2009 Champ Shane Murray backed up round 5 by entering dual classes Pro Open and Pro Lites at his home track, Shane took the holeshots and won both race 1 and 2, coming unstuck in race 3, but enough to take out the days proceedings. Daniel Shrimp needed a win in the last race of the series to secure himself a final series podium, and set about doing just that, the youngster taking only his 2nd race win for the year, but making it count when needed. Tim Bell made his first appearance since round 1 after a nasty injury kept him sidelined, a pair of 2nd's in race 1 and 2 leading up to some major Open events in the next few weeks will make him one to watch. Josh Adams took the series title after race 2, race 3 being a formaility, luckily as a huge cartwheel through the first corner in race 3, took him to the back of the pack to circulate for minor points.

Pro Open class would have to be the tightest class you have ever seen, 18 races over 6 rounds, and the top 2 riders taking all 18 wins, and 13 of the available 18 second places. Dean Porter and Louis Calvin dueling competitors since juniors, both at the top of their game. Louis needed to take all 3 wins to give himself the best shot at the title, while Dean Porter going in with a 20 point buffer needed to maintain solid finishes to secure the title himself, throw Shane Murray and Jamie Shaw in the mix to split the pair with 2nd places, and rapidly the lead dwindled. Dean did enough to get him through, celebrating his win with a huge wheel-stand across the chequers to the applause of his many fans. Chris Errey kept his margin tight beating Shane Murray for the 3rd podium position by 16 points.

Quad Championship saw Ryan Lancaster holding a 2 point buffer for the series to start the day, a first corner tangle in race 1 saw that lead diminish, Luke Gaisford took that win followed by retiring Pro Glen Ashworth and Mitchel Clarke. Race 2 it seemed wasnt Josh Higson's day, brilliant start leading the race until his seat dislodged, Lancaster and Gaisford coming together, but managing to take 1st and second in front of Higson. Race 3 was a prequel for the Pro Opens, Lancaster taking the race win, and leaving Gaisford to seal the championship, with a 4th place or better, Gaisford came through in 3rd and took the overall 2010 WA Quad Championship. Jordan Dummett had his best round of the series a hatrick of 4th places saw him take 3rd place for the day and 5th overall for the series for the young 16 year old.
