2009 Smarter than Smoking
WA State Motocross Championships

The 2009 Smarter than Smoking State Motocross Championships Series will be held over 6 Rounds starting at Coastal Park on April 26th . Coastal Park has held the final round of the series for many years, but 2009 will see the club hold the Series Opener. Over 270 riders are expected to fill the grids for the first round  and Sand Track specialist, Dean Porter will kick off his season to try and regain his Championship title.

Bunbury Motorcycle Club will host round 2, Shrublands Park with the backing of GWN advertising bringing forth regional riders and spectators from across the South West, with the bonus of just being a short 90minute drive from the metro area.

AJS Motorcyle Club will be the focus for June, hosting Round 3 of the WAMX Championships, with a gap of only 2 weeks before the Australian MX Championships on June 21st, this professional Motocross facility with its dedicated crew of volunteers will showcase not only  WA’s best but all the factory sponsored MX riders will be in attendance to compete for lucrative round 5 points towards MX’s biggest prize.

Southern Capes Motorcycle Club will host the split round of the series at Jindong Park, showcasing the Quad and Womens State Championship on Saturday July 4th, while all MX Solo classes will compete on Sunday July 5th.
A huge weekend of Motocross to satisfy the most discerning fans, with riders expected to travel from across the vast state of WA to compete.

BSA Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club has become one of the biggest rounds of the series, nestled in Gidgegannup at the Noble Falls circuit, racing is always fierce and competition tight to gain round 5 points towards the Championships. Noble Falls has had a facelift in the off- season, and will be interesting to see how the Pro’s adjust.

Round Six for 2009 will be held at Lightewight Motorcycle club, having experienced shocking weather in recent years events, the Byford circuit will host the finale of the series, the club hoping to see full grids and a packed house of spectators.
Championships will be awarded for the Pro Open, Pro Lite and Pro Quad classes, while support classes will also finalise their years racing at Hendley Park.

The WAMX State Round Crew of Graham Collis, Bethwyn Gaisford, Leanne Brenton, Cindy Collis, Shannon Harding & Daniel Collis, wish all riders a safe and enjoyable season.
