AJS Motorcycle Club will host Round 3 of the WA State MX Championships with a 2 week break before hosting Round 5 of the Australian MX Championships. Along with the prestige of hosting this event, brings with it, riders from across Australia to the WA State Championships getting some early preparation, and giving the WA Spectators a preview of what is to come for the National Solo MX Round.
Pro Quads provide some amazing racing at AJS,the spectacle of the holeshots and quarry feature in every race, current points leader Chad Mckay on 138points sits ahead of Anthony Yewers on 129points with Luke Gaisford in 3rd on 127points. Aus Pro Quad #1 Ryan Lancaster is back from a lengthy injury layoff and having placed 2nd recently in South Australia will be a force to be reckoned with. Ten Pro riders will line up with 9 intermediates for what is predicted to be some of the best racing in Australia.
Intermediate Quads see’s Ross Varnavides sitting in 1st on 137points, doing very well for outright positions mixing it with the Pro’s. Daniel Udell is putting in consistent finishes and excelling in the intermediates in 2009, he holds 2nd place on 120points ahead of Steve Trandos and Rick Stephens equal on 115points. AJS is home to many quad riders and the video’s and camera’s will be non stop for these guys!
24 Clubman Quads have contested the series so far, Kyle Brenton holding a narrow 1 point lead over Mitchell Clarke on 115points. Sam Derbyshire & Brodie Puleo hold 3rd place equally on 107 points. Another full grid is in place for round 3 and with some riders having home track advantage, the results are anybodies guess, but will have an impact on the overall placing’s halfway through the series.
Get in early to AJS as spectator vantage points will fill quickly, a full house is expected as riders from the East Coast polish their sand track skills on the Wanneroo Park circuit,
