Summercross Feb 20 2010
Simone Gaisford chose her Quad to start the years race season at Coastal Park's Summercross. Two weeks and 3 practice sessions before the event made for an enjoyable pre-season to what looks to be a full calendar of racing between Solo's and Quads.
Clubman Quads had 14 Entries and therefore like the solo's were split into 2 grids for 4 qualifying races ahead of the final and consolation races.
Race 1 saw a little carnage that Simone negotiated her way through to slip up into 4th place and hold onto for the 6 lap moto. Practice had Simone topping 55 seconds per lap, while others strived to get under the 50 second barrier, Simones best laptime in race 1 was 49 seconds and she should be very proud.
Race 2 was a dynamic struggle between Bernice, Woody and Simone for 2nd 3rd and 4th, while passes were attempted all over the tight circuit, they maintained position coming over the finish line with just 2 seconds separating all 3 riders.
Race 3 saw different battles with the front 3 riders splitting early from the main pack, leaving Brian, Bernice, Woody, Simone and Sam to attempt amazing passes with mistakes from each costing them positions, Simone finished up in 7th place for the event.

Bunbury Club Run
Simone's first ride at Bunbury ever, and thankfully the track was nice and smooth all day, jumps were jumpable and Simone's confidence in jumping a 450 is getting better each ride. Nice group of 9 racers on the grid was good with competitive tussles between riders all over the track. First impressions of Bunbury " I thought the track was really good, the jumps were all nice and the Honda just got better and better as Dad tweeked the bike set-up, looking forward to state round!"

2010 Women's Quad MX Championship
Twelve women raced for the WA Quad State Championship title on the weekend, traveling from the North West, Kalgoorlie and the South West, which was a great chance for a hit out on the circuit where the Australian Championships will be held later in the year.
Race 1 Bernice Ackerman got out to a good lead with Teniel Morgan and Simone in hot pursuit, top end of the track saw Teniel and Bernice off the track as they collided on a left hand turn, Simone took advantage and took the lead and held it til the last lap where Teniel made her way through with a pass on Simone and took the lead, Simone held second with Bernice coming through for third
Race two Simone was out in third for the entire race and held on for a good finish.
Race three Simone had a good tussle with Shelby Soltoggio putting in the pass, to take third place to secure her overall podium place in 3rd.
Simone would like to thak everyone that helped her get to the race meet, Luke and her Dad Grant for readying her bike to race, thanks for all the late nights, and my great sticker kit!
