Luke Gaisford at 15 years of age has been riding Quads for 9 years, starting out on a 70cc Honda ATC {Trike} he then moved up to the Honda TRX90cc. Sharing the bike with his sister became too much hard work, she wanted as much time on the bike as Luke!. A few race meets saw both kids missing out on some races, while the other took their turn, until finally a second Honda TRX90cc could be purchased. Luke being 16mths older and showing some promise on the race track was taken across to Victoria to race in their National event.Luke obtained 1st place, his mechanic Tony had made the trip to watch and take care of the bike, friend Brett Petricevich was in Victoria and offered much needed advice on the start gates, but 2003 Luke was the only WA rider to compete.
Luke changed to Yamaha in 2005 riding the 200cc Blaster, Simone upgraded the same week, but racing wasnt happening in WA for Juniors and Luke spent the year riding private tracks and getting used to the larger bike and Clutch ! 2005 Luke travelled to Victoria again and placed 4th in the 200cc Class, he was determined in 2006 that the number 1 would be on his bike.
Luke won the Coastal Club Championship for 2006 with 16 out of 17 wins, and finished 1st in the Coastal Kid, 4th in the Golden Wheel.
Nov 2006 saw the Honda Australian Quad Motocross Championships at Waneroo in Western Australia, sanctioned for the first time.Riders travelled from across the country to compete, qualifying was needed in the 200cc Class, Luke qualified first and went on to win all 3 championship races to win the Junior 200cc Australian Title, and WA Title

Grant Gaisford has been involved in Trikes and Quads since he was a teenager. Life and kids changed his focus until he saw a Honda TRX 250R sitting in the back of a ute in Lancelin. He stated he was going to own it and set about securing the deposit and sold his Boat, and got back into bikes. An incident on a trike had put Grant out for a while and in recovery he had been attending every State Round and getting to know everyone and also taking many pictures that are still appearing on web sites. Grant decided at 40 years old, he would start Racing Quad Motocross,it was 2004 and after trying his hand at some state rounds and Opens, and over State Round Presentaion dinner, Brett P offered to share his Quad in Vic at the 2004 Nationals. Grant went over had a good time, some great racing and bought home 2nd place in the 40+ class.
2005 saw the whole family travel to Victoria and Grant win all 5 races in the 15 man field, bringing back to WA the 40+ title. Grant also finished #5 for WA in the prestigious Pro Quad Class racing against people more than half his age.
Thoughts of retirement for the 250R and Grant held firm until attending 2 State Rounds. The urge got the better of him, and along with Honda Country, a deal for Grant to upgrade to a 2006 Honda TRX 450ER saw him back racing. Although he found the torturous 10Mins +1 lap at state Rounds Hard, The Nationals were another story, 5 more wins and back to back Titles saw him stand tall on the podium in 1st place. Grant wishes to maintain his racing until son Luke is able to enter some events, and race together. Look out Aug 2007!
