RPS Can-Am rider Luke Gaisford Holds 2nd Position for Western Australian Quad State Title.
Round 4 of the WA State Motocross Championships were held at Jindong Park, South of Busselton on Saturday July 4th.
Luke went into the round carrying an injury from a training incident the weekend before, but none the less endeavoured to ride for the best points he could across round 4. As with most riders, when the gates drop, the pain stops and the adrenalin to do what they love most kicks in. Luke got better as the day went on achieving 6th in the first race 4th in the second race and in the third race which was a 15minute moto, achieved 3rd place finishing just 3 seconds behind the leaders. Overall for the round he finished 4th and still holds overall 2nd for the series.
Gaisford’s Can-Am 450XMX worked flawlessly all day and Luke stated that Southern Capes had always been one of his favourite tracks and will definitely be back for the Southern Capes Open come October.
The Gaisford Family members also had a great event, with Grant Gaisford on board the RPS Honda TRX450ER taking out the 2009 Veterans Quad State Title, while daughter Simone Gaisford came 2nd in the 2009 Women's Quad State Title and holds 9th place in the Women's Solo State Round Series
Next weekend July 12th Luke will travel to Noble Falls for the BSA Cup, then up to Southern Cross for the biggest MX event of the year, “The King of the Cross”, which will start a huge month of racing on the WA Motocross Calendar.
