Gaisford Podiums at Round 3
of the WAMX State Motocross Championships.

Western Australian Pro Quad Rider Luke Gaisford took 3rd place at round 3 of the WA Championships on Sunday 7th June. The Wanneroo Park circuit was at its notorious best, roughing up and making racing an enduro to finish. Gaisford had to work hard for his podium finish, after coming off early in the second race after a tangle with another competitor and fighting back to 4th place.

Race three didn’t start well, Luke hitting a bank and coming off the RPS Can-Am 450 putting him again in last place, with a massive effort in front of him to salvage good points. Passing riders over the next two laps, he got up into 3rd place, with two laps to run. Glen Ashworth 10 seconds in front of him was his target, the last lap board was shown and now Gaisford was only 5 seconds behind, and down through the S bends Luke got to within 2 seconds of Ashworth, putting the pass on him on the corners before the lead up to the Quarry jump and finishing off the race, taking the 2nd place behind Anthony Yewers (72pts), who won the day. Glen Ashworth(60pts) took 2nd  and Luke Gaisford 3rd on 58pts.

For the series, Luke has moved up a place and now sits in 2nd place overall. With a few bruises, sore muscles etc, Luke will take the 4 weeks to recuperate before the Quad State Championships at Jindong on July 4th.
