BSA Cup Aug 1st 2010

Luke Gaisford took the Stanford Cabinets Suzuki to the BSA Cup and came away with the win. State round 5 will be hosted here in a few weeks and it was a great chance to get out and have some fun.
Local rider Barry Noy has this track dialed in and everyone knew he was putting in major fast laptimes, 1min. 39 was going to be a hard task on the Suzuki in standard trim.
Each race was 5 laps and everyone on the track was extremely competitive, Barry attacked the back wheels of Luke for the first few laps of the first two races then Luke slowly put in a comfortable lead, race 3 saw Brad Filbey take the holeshot and put in some major fast laps before Luke put on the pass to leave Brad and Barry fight out 2nd place.
Luke would like to thank Stanford Cabinets, the Mortimers and Filbeys for their help on Sunday.

Been a busy couple of weekends, last weekend the BSA cup and this week we traveled the 900km round trip out to Southern Cross.

Southern Cross is a really great event, sometimes the hardest part is actually getting a spot on the grid and you have to be on the ball watching for entries to come out.
Really look forward to Southern Cross, camping out, the fireworks and atmosphere creates a really good weekend.

Moto 1 Luke got a great start and took holeshot, Josh Higson and Ross Varnavides were close behind and battling it out til Josh pulled away and took off after Luke, Luke held on for a great finish and his first win ever at Southern Cross.

Moto 2 Another great start and Luke pulled away putting in some great lap times with Higson in tow, Higson tried to put on the pass, but Luke shut the door and pulled away to take the win.

Moto 3 Luke takes the hatrick in holeshots and pulled out to an early lead, Higson off his bike in the first corner was left to contend with passing the field, while Marcus Smith was holding second place about 20 seconds behind Luke, Higson went hard to retain second over the finish jump.

Great day, nice to get the win at an Open, Luke commented how special it was to win the Quad of the Cross at it meant a great deal to him.

State Round is in just 2 weeks back up at Noble Falls on August 22nd
