Went up to Noble Falls on Sunday, as my Sister Simone wanted to get some ride time on her Honda TRX 450ER. The only time we really get to race at BSA is at the Open and State Round, so was good to go to a club run and check out the track without so much pressure.
Last year I had a pretty major off there, and good to see the track has changed where it happened, so all good. Plenty of people turned up, there was over 20 quads to start with and they split us into 2 groups, members and associate members.
Was a few crashes in the members group, that were'nt fun sitting on the line watching. I got a great holeshot in the first race put in some great laptimes and won that, for round 2 there was now only 19 riders so they put us all together, a full grid I thought this will be on !.
I again got the holeshot on the Honda 450ER and lead the race from start to finish, the track was now really rutted up and was'nt fun to ride.
Race 3 I got the holeshot again and through the back section was passed, got pelted with some pretty major clay and rocks and backed off a tad to finish that one in second.
Simone came in all tear offs gone and goggles all sitting all crooked, she had gotten hit by some pretty major rocks too and decided she had enough! Was another good days racing, good to get out to different clubs and race against people we don't know.

Jindong Park Busselton
Round 2
May 8th 2010

Luke Gaisford was looking forward to Round 2 at Jindong, finally on his own bike, with his own shocks and his own engine, all was set up to put the MXP RPS Lonestar Honda TRX 450ER through its paces. Unfortunately Luke was unable to actually race the bike before Jindong so handling, speed and performance were all going to be tried and tested, on the track. Fifteen entries were on the start grid to race for round 2 Championship points, including Ryan Lancaster, Josh Higson, Glen Ashworth and Paul Worth(NSW).
Race 1 was a bit of a drama, as the 15 sec board was raised Luke suddenly realised his airbox lid was on and jumped off the bike to remove it, as he did the gates dropped, slamming the seat on and jumping on the bike he ended up in last place into the first corner, spending the entire moto passing everyone up into 4th place. Pretty annoyed with himself, made a few changes and went about trying to secure a better run in race 2 which was only a 6 lap sprint.
Still not a good start, but passing Worth, Clarke, Higson and Dummett to get up into 3rd place across the line.

Race 3 was the finale of the day and the final 15minute plus 1 lap moto, Lancaster got the holeshot and just built on his lead for the race, while Luke set about passing the same riders from race 2 all over again, securing 2nd place about half way through the moto he sat about 14+ seconds behind Lancaster til the chequers.

The second place in the last moto was enough to secure him second overall and move up to 2nd in the Championship.

Luke would like to thank everyone who helped ready his bike for racing, especially Ray at RPS Honda, his Dad Grant and Balshaws for allowing him to ride their property and being almost his weekend home.
Bunbury Club Run
May 23rd

Went to Shrublands Park Bunbury on Sunday the 23rd May, rounded up a few friends who were interested to go too, and see what the track was like when it was'nt State Round !
The weather was brilliant, and the track was really nice, Simone hadnt ridden there at all, and Luke had only ridden there at State Round. To let you know how smooth it stayed, laptimes in race 1 were achievable in race 3 ! Luke won all three races, having some good battles with the others, and local club riders,he commented " I would'nt mind coming back here and riding all the time, really good track to ride"
