Saturday 24th April,

Well it has been getting to long between posts but I should be getting an internet card at the next race in Virginia. Well as you all know I didn’t qualify at the last round for Pro-am unlimited or Pro-am production, I wasn’t happy with my efforts and simply didn’t have enough speed. Not having my race bike didn’t help either but I was still too slow. Since then we have been back at JJ’s (Jeramiah Jones) riding and also went to Balance MX again where Chase Snapp helped me out a lot by showing me different lines I should have been taking and that I need to be standing up a lot more. Jeramiah has been teaching me a lot as well for example there are some corners on his track that I used to come into in 2nd gear and now I am either in 3rd or 4th! It has made a big difference to my speed I think and hopefully with the new bike and more power I will be able to qualify comfortably at the next round in Virginia. Today we went and watched the GNCC race at Loretta Lynn’s and it was something else. It had rained all night and all morning and the track was disgusting. Our group walked out into the woods and found a really hard part of the track where we made new lines for the riders we liked and helped others. One guy’s bike stopped and Darren who is the Snapp’s mechanic pushed a stick through the kids air filter jamming one end into the air box and  pushing the seat onto the top of the stick to act as a cage for the air filter so it wouldn’t suck  the filter and all the water into the intake. But all in all it has been really fun and I am enjoying myself. Once I get WiFi I should be able to post all my videos, photos and more blogs. Bye all

So I am now finally at Chad’s house. It took 16+hrs to get here, we drove till 2am after racing on Sunday and drove from 11am to around 12pm Monday. We rode on Chad’s track today and man it is gnarly, it has step ups, step downs, triples, doubles, table tops, whoops up hills, whoops on the side of a hill, rhythm section, 90 degree double, rollers, long straights, tight sections it is an awesome track. I cleared everything once I followed Chase Snapp into everything. Im looking forward to riding here more but I have been warned that EVERYONE has crashed at this track so hopefully it isn’t a bad crash. I have some helmet cam footage of Chase which I will up load and a bunch of pics.

Hi All,

So I know it’s been too long between posts but nothing seems to go my way when it comes to Wi-Fi connection! So since I last blogged I had just raced at Virginia, since then we have been to Illinois where we raced at Walnut. The track there was a little sandy like home but it just doesn’t get as rough because they prep it more than home. Unfortunately I qualified 19th and then in the LCQ I clicked a false neutral through the rhythm section. There was only 0.7 seconds between 10th – 19th so it’s pretty close. I would have qualified if I had of cut my rear skid plate down so it didn’t drag through the sand. Well we are now at Joel Hetricks and have been to a couple of different tracks which is pretty cool. We will be staying here for around a month and hopefully the Snapps come here after steel city. Ryan Lancaster is now here and he will be racing 2 races using my practice bike so I’m hoping he enjoys himself. Well I uploaded a bunch of movies last night but I think some didn’t work so I will do more tonight, just type in Chris Brenton into the search or use the link that waquadmx.com have created for you here on my site and you can find all my videos.

Ill try be on a little more than I have been but it’s hard when I don’t have Wi-Fi.

Hey guys.

Well I am on my way to Spring Creek MX in Millville MN we have just pulled into a truck stop where we are sleeping the night. I have been staying at Mark Baldwins the past week and a bit, trying to get more power out of my race bike, while also fixing things on my practice bike, servicing shocks and so forth. I haven’t been riding once since the last round at Steel City, it kind of sucks but i'll be back training hard after these next 2 rounds! Steel City was an awesome track it has sick rhythm sections, a huge step up, a decent size table top which you could jump backwards and a cool pro double. I qualified 13th for the weekend which isn’t too bad but I would like to be up in the top 10 just have to improve my corner speed. So in our first pro practice I decided I would hit the big step up first lap, I had watched the pros do it in the practice before hand and well it looked easy so without even rolling it I hucked it first lap ha I was pretty happy actually! Also the pro double was kinda gnarly, no pros done it in their first practise because the lip was like a wall and there was hardly any landing so the track guy mellowed out the lip a little (not much) and in my 3rd lap I went for it and came out good haha the crowd was clapping and putting their hands in the air which was pretty cool. I was the 2nd guy to do it young restraelli was the first to do it. In the racing I ended up with a 12th and 17th for 13th overall I think or 14th overall but yeah its where I qualified. Wayne from P.E.P and Mark Baldwin have been helping me with my shocks and man they are amazing its night and day difference in how good they are compared to everything else I have used! I mean most of the pro’s use Fox but that’s because Fox sponsor more people but you ask a lot of them what they would use if they weren’t sponsored and I guarantee you they will say P.E.P! hopefully the rest I have had has allowed my body to recover and I do well this weekend, its meant to be thunderstorms so we will see how I go!

So it’s Monday after the race weekend and I have figured I will do a race report now instead of two weeks from now. The forecast for the weekend was rain, thunderstorms, more rain and rain but it turns out that wasn’t the case. Friday practice was cancelled due to the track being so muddy but it didn’t rain once after Friday. I didn’t enter Pro-Am unlimited because I thought it was going to be a mud fest but I’m wishing I did now and it would have got me some more track time other than the 15min pro practice we got on Saturday. The two weeks prior to the race I was at Mark Baldwin’s trying to get more power out of my race bike and it seemed to have worked because I got two pretty good starts compared to my usual back of the pack starts. The first moto I was about 10th or 11th out of the hole-shot and slowly worked my way up to 7th place. There was a fair gap behind me and 8th place so I was happy with my result but my fitness let me down and I ran out of stamina, the pace is a lot faster and you need to be really fit and I haven’t been doing much fitness training but I will be working on that from now on! The 2nd moto I was about 7th or 8th out of the start, half way through the moto I started to fade and that’s when Billy Cottage and Andy Travis passed me and I finished 10th overall. Those positions gave me 7th place overall and that’s my best position yet. We are now back at Chad’s where I will be cycling and doing motos every day until we leave for Tennessee Thursday. My next update will be next Monday or Tuesday so check up. I’m going to take some pictures of Chad’s track to put onto the site but keep checking my face book because I sometimes put pictures onto that from my phone.
Cheers
