Friday 9th April,
Sorry it has been so long, but I haven’t had Wi-Fi and have been flat out with riding and training. We are currently in Bowling Green Kentucky at Jeremiah Jones’s. His track isn’t technical like Keith Little’s track, but it’s still fun. Jeremiah is really easy to talk to and loves to help out any way he can. I am now following Thomas Brown around everywhere so it makes it really easy and also the Snapp brothers who are both really cool guys. We all bought paintball guns the other day and have been paintballing as a fitness routine along side of cycling, gym, running and bulk riding. After Alabama we went back to Keith’s for a week before we came to Kentucky. All of us went golfing in Alabama but Corey Snapp and myself just hired a golf cart and went hooning around the golf course and had so much fun just running into everyone and racing everywhere. Our next race is next weekend, 17th and 18th. I should have my race bike for then, so fingers crossed. I have heaps of movies and photos to upload, but that will have to wait until the weekend when I can get a hotel room where I will have Wi-Fi to upload all the movies and pictures. It'll be nice to have a really long shower as well.
Chris

Round 2 of the AMA Quad Motocross Championships was held on April 18th at Balance Motocross, Bowling Green Kentucky. There was about 800 Quads racing in 36 different classes
Chris was advised to utilise his time racing in the US to enter more than one class, for this round he entered Pro Am Production & Pro Am Unlimited
First was Pro Am Unlimited, the races for these are held on Fridays and Saturdays and Chris came 6th in the 4th Moto, unfortunately this put him 26th outright of the 41 entries and meant he did'nt qualify to race the finals.
Next up was Pro Am Production, qualifying is 5 minutes of un-timed practice with 10minutes of timed practice where all laptimes are recorded by transponders, the top 18 riders go straight through to the finals while everyone else goes into Last chance qualifying to get the last two spots. Chris commented " I didnt feel comfortable at Balance MX and just could'nt put in the laptimes I needed, the KTM ran well , I did'nt go into the LCQ but have alot to do before the next round, I'm training daily, but I know I need to train harder."
Round 3 is at Birchcreek Motorsport VA
on May 1st and 2nd

May 4
Round three of the AMA ATV National Series was held at Birch Creek in Southern Virginia on May 1st and 2nd. With Chris receiving his new race bike, he was feeling confident of a good result in both Pro-Am Unlimited and Pro-Am Production. After the first Pro-Am Unlimited practice, he was feeling very comfortable with the power and handling of the new machine after posting some good lap times. The first qualifying race ended with a fifth place to put him through to the final. Wanting to get a good start in the main race and improve on his qualifying position, things didn’t go to plan and he managed to get into a tangle at the first corner. After getting underway, he worked his way up to 13th place in the six lap race. This gave him an 11th place overall in the Pro-Am Unlimited.
After the race, he commented “my new bike not only looks good, but feels good too. With a bit of fine tuning, I am hoping for more torque to help out of the corners. I can’t wait for Pro-Am Production tomorrow.”
Qualifying saw Chris post 14th fasted time, which put him through to the main. On the 2nd lap of the 1st Moto, Chris came off after coming together with another competitor. The results of the crash left him with no front brakes and resulted in a DNF. He was unable to repair his bike in time for the second Moto so he recorded a DNS. In the AMA, a rider must repair the bike he has entered on, he cannot use a replacement. Chris suffered a sore hip, but is looking forward to training leading up to the 4th round at Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut Illinois on the 15th and 16th of May.
